I went to this psychic for years and she scamed me and a friend out of 50k. We were both very ill and she claimed to belong to an exclusive healing group that has healed dying patients. She even called whoever and they collaberated her story. After purposely getting to know her better and gain her trust, she told me how all the readers in the store she works for scam people. For the last 4 months, this lady who wants her husband, brother-in-law and mother-in-law killed has been making weekly payments between $300.-900. to this 81 year old psychic and when the paying lady asks why they're not dead yet, she gives some BS excuse that the lady believes. The psychic is an independant contractor she says but she has to be to work at a certain time, her appointments are set up for her and the owner takes 30-40% from each reader for each person read. I went to the owner, explained only my situation and said I was entitled to get my 50k back and i have 25k in cancelled checks to prove I paid her. He said here in NV that he's not responsible because they are independant contractors. But when you have set times that you must be there at work and there are people who are employed there setting your appointments for you and you need to call in if you're going to be late or are not coming in, then they are not completely independant contractors, correct and wouldn't the owner be responsible for what goes on inside his establishment? Also, since I'm aware of this muder-for-hire, do I have any legal responsibilities I should be aware of?
